Hello again, Hokkaido

One of my all-time favorite characters, Edna Mode, famously said, "I never look back, darling. It distracts from the now."

It is, as anyone would tell you, sound advice. I've never been one to follow good advice, however, and so over the years I've developed this habit of looking back at particular moments in my life, both happy and sad, and replaying them in my mind.

One of the memories I seem to always go back to is that trip to Japan's northernmost island I took six years ago. I think it's because, while I have seen many, many more places since then, I have never seen anything quite as magical as snow-covered Hokkaido.

Doesn't this look like a scene from a movie?
